The bug

This test passes. It also adds the wrong implant.

  • The catalog has four "Add to cart" buttons per card.
  • locator('button') always picks the first one — the cheapest implant.
  • The badge reads "1" because an item was added.
  • The test never verified which implant it actually clicked.

Green test. Wrong product in cart.

The lesson

Brittle selectors pass silently.

  • Verify before you click. Assert the implant name before adding to cart.
  • Role locators survive. getByRole with a name beats a bare tag selector.
  • Tests that pass lie. A green test can still ship a broken cart.
